About Me
Hello,
I'm Celica L. Anfiteatro, and I believe that the oldest stories hold the newest insights. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by the power of myth – not just as ancient tales, but as profound blueprints for understanding the world. My academic journey has been a quest to unearth the hidden logic within these narratives, leading me to a unique perspective that I'm thrilled to share with you through "Mythos and Modalities."
My path has always been driven by a curiosity about how things work, how different elements connect to form a coherent whole. This led me to embrace the study of mythology from the perspective of systems thinking, a skillset that illuminates complex problems by defining root causes and identifying points of intervention. I see a system not just as a collection of parts, but as a dynamic set of interconnecting relationships that organizes both tangible and intangible elements into a coherent pattern, all working to achieve a specific purpose or function over time. This analytical lens became my key to unlocking deeper meanings within epic narratives.
"Mythos and Modalities" is the culmination of this intellectual adventure. It’s a podcast for "curious minds and creative storytellers" who, like me, want to "go beyond the surface of ancient tales." We don't just retell myths; we dissect epic myths not just for their narratives, but for the intricate systems that drive them. The "modalities" in our title refer to these different ways, forms, or approaches to understanding something, allowing us to explore rich narratives from multiple angles, perspectives, and analytical frameworks.
My purpose with "Mythos and Modalities" is to bring these ancient blueprints to life, demonstrating how they can illuminate systemic problems in our own society and inspire new ways of thinking. Whether you're here to gain a deeper appreciation for classic literature or to find inspiration for your own creative work, I invite you to join me as we "explore the blueprint of legend" and uncover the timeless wisdom embedded within our shared mythic heritage.
